A little about me...
My name is Jasmine. I was born in a coastal city in Vietnam. When I was just a baby, my family immigrated to the U.S. Midwest, where I spent most of my youth.
Growing up in a lower-class immigrant family, leisurely travel was not part of our lives. The only family vacation we took was to the neighboring state to visit my older sister.
At the age of 17, I was sponsored to become an exchange student in Europe. This was the first time I set off to travel and live abroad by myself. That year as an exchange student set off a fire inside me to see the world. Since then, I’ve traveled to over 38 countries and have seen some of the most amazing places.
I did not grow up in a family or community of world travelers, but through research and a relentless curiosity to see the world, I became one. And you can too.

I have an affinity for Vietnam not only because it’s my motherland but also because the food is AMAZING. I also love Belgium and South Korea because I lived abroad in those two countries for a decent amount of time and have a lot of fond memories and experiences there.
I studied Strategic Communications in college, which eventually landed me a job as a Content Manager at a website design & marketing agency. What started out as an in-office role became remote when COVID hit a year later. I eventually transitioned from that role to another fully remote role as an Account Manager at a different website design & marketing agency after two years.
My desire to travel sprouted when my Mandarin Chinese teacher in 10th grade urged me to apply for a scholarship to study abroad in China that summer. I eagerly applied, got interviewed, and eventually rejected…However, I couldn’t get the idea of studying abroad out of my head after realizing that possibility existed. Half a year later, I applied and got accepted to a different program to study abroad in Belgium for my entire senior year of high school.
When I’m solo traveling, I always carry around a tripod that I can attach my phone to. Then I use a camera app to automatically take a bunch of photos on my phone. After that, it’s just selecting the best ones and editing them. I do have a professional camera that I’ll pull out sometimes but 90% of my Instagram photos are taken from a phone.
